How to choice ventilation system?

Heat exchangers might be devided to recuperators and regenerators. Recuperators are conventional heat exchangers, regenerators - periodic-flow devices.

Recuperators are conventional heat exchangers in which hot and cold gases flow steadily on opposite sides of a solid (usually metal) wall. Regenerators are periodic-flow devices. Fluid streams flow in opposite directions through passages in a wheel with heat storage walls. The wheel rotates, transferring heat from one stream to the other. Regenerators usually use a nest of very small parallel passages oriented axially on a wheel which rotates.

Recent improvements to technology have allowed recuperators to recover 90-95% of the waste heat, so there is no need to heat air which is supplied to room, there is less heat loss.

The main parameter for HRV - efficiency. This parameter informs about how much heat HRV returns back and how much it gives away. The lower efficency is, the higher power of heater must be.

One more immportant parameter - fan power. You gain cheaper exploitation when fan power is lower.
